Arkansas House Bill 1014 requires all public schools in the state of Arkansas to teach all students in grades 9 through 12 bleeding control training.

Arkansas House Bill 1014 Bleeding Control Training (2019)

California

The Tactical Response to Traumatic Injuries Act of California requires new buildings constructed on or after January 1, 2023 to keep at least 6 bleeding control kits on the premises.

California AB-2260 Emergency response: trauma kits.(2021-2022)

Colorado House Bill HB 23-1213 requires Colorado schools that opt in to receive bleeding control kits and training. The bill specifies each school to receive between 3 and 10 kits based on the school population.

Colorado House Bill HB23-1213

Connecticut House Bill HB 7200 requires at least 1 bleeding control kit to be on every floor of government buildings. The bill also specifies all new or renovated public buildings to keep at least 1 bleeding control kit per floor. The kit must be centrally located, clearly visible, and easily accessible.

Connecticut House Bill HB7200

Florida House Bills HB 1357 & HB 5001 require all schools within Florida school districts to have a least 1 bleeding control kit per school. All students are to receive bleeding control training as part of graduation requirements. The bills also provide guidelines for placing bleeding control kits within all government buildings.

The Georgia Trauma Comission provides bleeding control kits and training to schools, law enforcement agencies, and government entities on an application basis.

Georgia Trauma Comission

Illinois House Bill 1561 establishes guidance on the recommended contents of bleeding control kits maintained on-site in schools across the state. It also requires all licensed K–12 school personnel to complete training every two years on how to respond to life-threatening bleeding emergencies.

Illinois House Bill HB1561

Indiana House Act No. 1063 requires schools to keep bleeding control kits in easily accessible location as noted by local first responders or the school safety specialist. The act also sets requirements to restock the bleeding control kits after each use and annual inspections to ensure kit integrity.

Indiana House Act No. 1063

massachusetts

Massachusetts Bill S.1619 requires all public government buildings, and all general public buildings with an occupancy of 300 or higher to have a trauma bleeding control kit and a trained designee able to provide first aid in cases of serious, life threatening bleed injuries.
